Penn State’s Center for Education and Civil Rights (CECR) and Center for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE) hosted an open, public Meet the Editors session, including a separate discussion for graduate students. Editors provided guidance on navigating the publishing industry and writing internationally for a variety of both print and online platforms, including articles and books. This forum featured:

 

Jayne Fargnoli

Acquisitions Editor of Harvard Education Press

Fargnoli is an editor at Harvard Education Press, where she is responsible for developing titles on higher education and race and education. A senior publishing professional, Fargnoli spent many years at Blackwell Publishing (later, Wiley Blackwell) as an executive editor, commissioning titles across the social sciences and humanities.

 

Dr. Alicia C. Dowd

Associate Editor of the Review of Educational Research

Dr. Dowd is a Professor of Education at Penn State University, the Director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE), and associate editor of The Review of Educational Research, a top-ranked journal in the field of education, which publishes critical, integrative reviews of research literature and scholarly work. Dr. Dowd’s scholarship revolves around the study of organizational learning and change towards racial equity in higher education.
